60 Plus Applauds MN Seniors for Standing-Up to AARP’s Liberal, Pro-Obama Antics

Jim Martin, “Seniors standing together will make a noise loud enough even for AARP to hear!”

(Alexandria, Virginia) – 60 Plus Association Chairman and Founder Jim Martin today offered his strong voice of support to Minnesota seniors who are cutting up their AARP membership cards in protest of the organization’s opposition to the Minnesota Voter ID amendment, which has the overwhelming support of all residents in the North Star state, including seniors.

Present on the internet at www.ditchAARP.com, the grassroots group of Minnesota seniors has undertaken efforts to alert seniors that AARP frequently opposes the values and will of their own membership, such as they did when endorsing the Obamacare legislation that was strongly opposed by seniors at the time of its passage, and remains extremely unpopular today.

“On behalf of our 7.2 million senior supporters nationally, and more than 70,000 supporters in the state of Minnesota, I applaud the efforts of Jeff Davis and all of his colleagues at the Minnesota Majority for standing up to the AARP’s liberal nonsense.  Mr. Davis is absolutely correct when he says that the AARP is out of touch, and more interested in advancing a liberal agenda than listening to and supporting the interests of the seniors they use in order to make hundreds of millions of dollars selling insurance products.

“By opposing the Minnesota Voter ID amendment, the AARP has once again demonstrated they don’t give a silver nickel about what Minnesota seniors want, and are going to push their liberal pro-Obama agenda regardless.  AARP supported Obamacare when it slashed half a trillion dollars from Medicare, and now they claim to be on a ‘listening tour’ to find out what their members want.  What a joke, AARP didn’t listen to seniors when it counted, and they still don’t listen to seniors today.

“Seniors across the nation who are tired of Obama and the liberal groups like AARP who support him every step of the way can accomplish a lot for this nation if we join our voices together and tell AARP that they don’t represent US!  And they won’t need a listening tour to hear us!”
