Democrat Leaders Poke Seniors in the Eye

60 Plus Association Chairman Jim Martin made the following statement following the House of Representatives passage of Obamacare:

“Today, liberal Democrat leaders forced through a health care reform plan that is horrible for seniors. Seniors, especially those on Medicare, will see cuts to services and will see the quality of care diminish.

There have been reports that over 40% of doctors will stop taking Medicare. Walgreens stores in Washington state have already announced they’ll stop taking new Medicare prescriptions next month because of low reimbursement rates. The effects are already being felt.

I hear from seniors every day who fear this bill will be their death knell. Seniors deserve the best care available, and President Obama, Speaker Pelosi and Senator Reid have just stuck their finger in the eye of every senior on Medicare, and guaranteed that won’t happen.

Seniors are a unique group. We’re concerned, we pay attention and we vote. Seniors have long memories, and we will not forget this betrayal. The senior citizen tsunami is gearing up to hit Washington in November, and no one is safe.”
