60 Plus Chairman Calls for “Bold Action” on Tax Reform

Statement by 60 Plus Chairman and Founder James Martin
(Alexandria, VA) – August 4, 2017 “Ronald Reagan’s call for bold action in 1975 rings as true today as it did then. Conservatives must raise, “a banner of no pale pastels, but bold colors which make it unmistakably clear where we stand,” on tax reform.

“The time for bold action on tax reform is now. Conservatives have the best opportunity in a generation to lower tax rates, simplify our monstrously complicated tax code, and relegate the hated Death Tax to the ash heap of history.

“The Death Tax is a relic of World War I that was sold to America as a temporary tax which has unfortunately become a permanent fixture of the tax code. The only thing still alive from the First World War is this despicable, job killing tax. Now is the time for bold action – lower tax rates, simpler tax laws and the abolition of the Death Tax.”
