60 Plus Challenges Outcomes of Florida Senator Bill Nelson’s Support for Government Spending in New Ad

Senior advocacy group places $1.1 million ad buy

ALEXANDRIA, Va. – The 60 Plus Association, nationally recognized as the conservative alternative to the liberal AARP, today launched a new TV ad campaign that challenges the outcomes of Florida Senator Bill Nelson’s votes for the failed $800 billion stimulus and Obama’s health care takeover.

“Florida seniors and their families are facing serious and regressive challenges as a result of Senator Nelson’s support for unbridled government spending,” said Jim Martin, Chairman and Founder of 60 Plus, in announcing the ad buy.  “The bailouts and bureaucratic takeovers supported by Senator Nelson and his Senate colleagues have increased joblessness in Florida and across the country, cut billions from Medicare to fund new government programs, and put our families’ interests and liberties at risk.  Florida taxpayers need real results, not the empty promises that come with big-government spending.”

The $1.1 million ad buy will run statewide from June 6 to June 19.  Click here to view the television ad or visit www.60plus.org for more information.

ANNOUNCER:
Times have been tough in Florida.  Almost one million out of work, businesses shutting down, thousands of homeowners facing foreclosure.

But in Washington, Bill Nelson supports President Obama’s policies that hurt hard-working taxpayers.

He voted for Obama’s failed $800 billion stimulus – but unemployment still went up.  And was the deciding vote for the health care law that cuts $500 billion from Medicare to pay for new government programs.

Tell Bill Nelson:  Protect hard-working taxpayers.  Stop the wasteful spending.
