TALLAHASSEE, FLA. – The 60 Plus Association, nationally recognized as the conservative alternative to the liberal AARP, today launched new television and web ads in Florida’s 2nd Congressional District.  The organization will spend nearly $400,000 in the district on issue ads that spotlight Rep. Allen Boyd’s record.

“The Greatest Generation knows the power of their vote,” said Jim Martin, Chairman of 60 Plus.  “Rep. Boyd has walked lockstep with Speaker Nancy Pelosi, rather than standing up for the best interests of his constituents.  With his vote for health care reform, he threw thousands of seniors into a one-size-fits-all plan they didn’t want.  With his vote for the so-called stimulus package, he led the nation towards a jobless ‘recovery’ that forced many to file for their Social Security benefits early – jeopardizing the entire system.  Seniors have had enough and are ready to speak up this November.”

Featuring voices from Florida’s 2nd Congressional District, the 30-second TV ad will air across the district beginning on September 9.   Local seniors speak out in the ad, explaining Rep. Boyd’s record while serving in the U.S. House of Representatives.

A full transcript of the television ad can be found below or a video of the ad can be found by clicking here.
