(Alexandria, Virginia) – Chairman Jim Martin of the 60 Plus Association praised the House for passing two important pieces of legislation, House Resolution 5452 the “Native American Health Savings Improvement Act”, and House Resolution 5447 the “Small Business Health Care Relief Act of 2016.” Martin also urged those who prevented House Resolution 1270, the “Restoring Access to Medications Act” from passage this week “to get out of the way” of improving access to medication and allowing families more flexibility with their HSA plans.

In a statement released by 60 Plus, Martin said,

“Obamacare has been a failure and seniors have paid the price for it. Health savings accounts are a critical component of allowing Americans to take part in planning for medical savings and costs related to healthcare. This is why we at 60 Plus were disappointed that H.R. 1270 the ‘Restoring Access to Medications Act’ was not taken up and passed this week as expected. Americans are tired of political infighting at the cost of smarter and better options for our families.”

Martin went on to say, “The two bills passed are small but necessary steps to improving a broken system and I applaud the bipartisan support both received to improve access to more free market systems.”

“60 Plus will be watching H.R. 1270 closely to make sure this important bill is passed.”
