Result of Pelosi’s Bill:Shorter Life Spans for Seniors
ALEXANDRIA, Virginia (April 22, 2021) – 60 Plus Association Founder and Chairman James Martin and Saul Anuzis issued today the following statement in response to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s proposal on prescription drugs:
“Speaker Pelosi is apparently listening to Ezekiel Emanuel, a senior advisor to President Biden who advocates that seniors should willingly pass away at age 75 (so considerate of him)!
“That is the only reason I can think of why she continues to support outlandish legislation such as H.R. 3, which may sound good on the surface but unfortunately what it really does is nothing short of socialization of the pharmaceutical industry. Her bill will lead to limited access to life saving therapies and virtually guarantee an end to the long-term research required to invent the next generation of life-enhancing medicines. Given how the pharmaceutical industry is literally providing a life-saving vaccine during this unprecedented pandemic this is not only irresponsible it is unconscionable,” Martin emphasized.
“What this legislation will do in the long run is nothing more than a giant step toward government control of the pharmaceutical industry. Speaker Pelosi’s bill will pursue a destructive path of confiscatory taxation and retroactive penalties through heavy handed tactics,” Anuzis stated.
“This legislation will result in fewer choices and less innovation. It not only will harm older Americans but it also puts future generations at a much greater risk for not being able to fight what deadly diseases are lurking in the days ahead. This is not only a continued betrayal of seniors but to their children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren,” Martin concluded.
