Jim Martin, “Once again we see that the Obama Administration is really nothing more than one giant corrupt, taxpayer-funded political campaign.”
(Alexandria, Virginia) – 60 Plus Chairman Jim Martin, leader of the nation’s largest conservative seniors organization with over 7.2 million senior supporters, today issued the following statement regarding the Office of Special Counsel’s finding that Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Kathleen Sibelius violated the Hatch Act by endorsing Obama’s re-election at a taxpayer funded event on Feb 25, 2012:
“Once again the illegal and disgraceful behavior of the Obama Administration rears its ugly head. First the sitting HHS Secretary makes a clear and blatant violation of the Hatch Act, giving a political endorsement of the President at a taxpayer funded event. Then the President doubles down on corruption by looking the other way and essentially saying there is no consequence when one of his Cabinet members breaks the law.
“Secretary Sibelius should be fired immediately, she should be treated like every other government employee who violates the Hatch Act and is terminated. But welcome to ‘Obamaworld,’ where laws only apply to other people, not them.
“Secretary Sibelius’s tenure at HHS has been one disgrace after another, and one giant abuse of taxpayers and seniors looking for honest leadership from their government. Let’s not forget that Sibelius called tens of millions of Americans who opposed Obamacare ‘the enemy’ during a Democrat rally in April.
“She knowingly puts out false information, such as a recent op-ed in the Washington Post, claiming Obamacare is good for Americans and will lower costs when the government’s own data says the exact opposite. Corruption, dishonest propaganda and taxpayer abuse is all we get from the Sibelius HHS. We deserve better.”
