Music Legend Pat Boone Ask Seniors to Support Florida Amendment 1

Legendary entertainer Pat Boone, spokesman for the national non-partisan senior citizen group the 60 Plus Association, today called upon Florida voters to support Amendment 1, Rights of Electricity Consumers Regarding Solar Energy Choice.

In a statement released by 60 Plus, Boone remarked, “I’m still singing at concerts but today I’m calling to encourage you to get out to vote in this critical election and to support the Solar Ballot initiative Amendment 1.”  Boone, 82, was born in Florida. He and his wife of over 60 years, Shirley, reside in Beverly Hills, California.

Boone is familiar to audiences as a star of music, film and television. Boone has had 38 top-ten hits since his recording career began in the 1950s, and, according to Billboard magazine, still holds the record for the most consecutive weeks (220) on the charts by any performer.

Chairman Jim Martin, who founded 60 Plus in 1992, added “60 Plus has seen throughout the nation that seniors are frequent targets of the bad players in the solar industry.  This amendment guarantees that the promises made to seniors are kept and that scammers can be held accountable for their actions.”

Hi–This is Pat Boone. Yes, that Pat Boone, the Love Letters in the Sand guy. Calling on behalf of the 60 Plus Association.

I’m still singing at concerts but today I’m calling to encourage you to get out to vote in this critical election and to support the Solar Ballot initiative Amendment 1.

60 Plus knows how important it is that the Sunshine state leads the way in policies that will encourage solar while at the same time protecting the pocketbooks and promises made to seniors. This amendment provides important consumer protections including ensuring that the burden of costs isn’t shifted to those who can least afford it.

Remember support Amendment 1 when casting your ballot to promote solar energy the right way. Seniors I hope we can count on your support.

Pat Boone saying so long and God Bless.
