New 60 Plus Ad Puts Spotlight on Ortiz’s Record

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – The 60 Plus Association, nationally recognized as the conservative alternative to the liberal AARP, today launched a new television ad in Texas’s 27th Congressional District that puts a spotlight on Rep. Solomon Ortiz’s record. The organization will spend nearly $150,000 in the area.

“Texas seniors have a message for Rep. Ortiz:  We are upset about ObamaCare, we are worried about the $500 billion cut it made to Medicare, and most importantly, we vote,” said Jim Martin, Chairman of 60 Plus.  “Time and time again, Ortiz takes orders from Pelosi, but ignores Texas.  The Greatest Generation may not know why Ortiz voted against them on health care reform, but they know exactly why they will be voting against him this November.”

The 30-second television ad will air throughout the district beginning on October 22.  A full transcript of the television ad can be found below or a video of the ad can be found by clicking here .

ANNOUNCER:
Texans value our independence, and don’t take orders from Washington.  But Solomon Ortiz votes lockstep with his party 98 percent of the time.  He sided with Nancy Pelosi on the health care bill that cuts $500 billion from Medicare and raises taxes.  And after Ortiz’s big spending stimulus, we still lost millions of jobs.  Say yes to Texas and no to taxes and bigger government.  Vote no on Solomon Ortiz.
