“Quiet veto a far cry from hoopla and fanfare surrounding original signing of the law, demonstrating that even Obama himself knows this law is a turkey.”
(Alexandria, Virginia) — The non-partisan 60 Plus Association, America’s largest free-market seniors advocacy organization, with over 7.2 million supporters, today issued a statement regarding President Obama’s veto of legislation passed by both houses of Congress that would repeal Obamacare law he signed into law in 2010. Said 60 Plus Vice President Matthew Kandrach:
“With a stroke of his veto pen, President Obama stands alone against both chambers of Congress and the will of the American people, who more than five years after the enactment of Obamacare still overwhelmingly disfavor this disastrous, costly and unfriendly law.
“With each passing year Obamacare claims new victims to its skyrocketing costs, higher deductibles, eye-popping premium increases, and added limitations as to what procedures, services and medications the American people have available to them.
“The President further affirmed the more than trillion-dollar-and-growing price tag the nation will be saddled with to pay for this bureaucratic nightmare that is frustrating physicians and medical professionals, and hurting seniors with its more than $700 billion in cuts to Medicare.
“Seniors appreciate the hard work and thoughtfulness of Senate Leader McConnell and Speaker Ryan to bring repeal to the President’s desk, and take this as an encouraging sign that our elected leaders will continue to fight until the end to repeal this unworkable legislative failure and replace it with true patient-centered healthcare reform.”
