60 Plus Jim Martin: “Seniors on fixed incomes are hurt the most by Obama’s ‘lack of energy’ policy.”
(Alexandria, Virginia) – 60 Plus Association Chairman Jim Martin, leader of the largest conservative seniors advocacy group in the nation, today applauded Texas Governor Rick Perry’s proposal to reign in the Environmental Protection Agency, and unapologetically advance a platform for America to tap into vast energy reserves currently put off-limits by the Obama Administration.
“Governor Perry hit the bull’s-eye in identifying exactly what America needs in order to recover from the disastrous and painful Obama economy. Right up there with Obama’s health care law and our ridiculous taxes on economic productivity, Obama’s EPA is the biggest job killer holding back economic prosperity for American families.
“Our nation needs to focus on domestic energy production that will put America back to work. We have vast reserves of oil, natural gas, and remain the Saudi Arabia of coal. Unfortunately President Obama’s anti-prosperity platform rewards other nation’s for producing energy, leaving Americans with fewer jobs and higher energy bills. For seniors on fixed incomes, this radical environmental agenda is a killer.
“Energy production and reigning-in reckless environmental regulations that choke our economy will be central issues in 2012. All current GOP presidential candidates are similarly inclined as Gov. Perry, and we look forward to their proposals.
“Governor Perry should be applauded for this leadership and taking on this important fight. He hit the nail on the head. Maybe with some new leadership in the White House this nail will drive down far enough to unleash the abundant energy resources we need to re-build prosperity, provide economic security for our families and seniors, and fulfill America’s promise as the economic envy of the world.”
