Seniors Say Time to Repeal and Replace Obama’s Un-Affordable Care Act

(Alexandria, Virginia) – With the first day of Obamacare arguments at the Supreme Court in the books, Americans remain overwhelmingly in favor of repealing the President’s health care law, whether piece by piece, or all at once.

“It was rammed down our throats two years ago.  Seniors didn’t like it then.  Seniors don’t like it now,” said 60 Plus Chairman Jim Martin, leader of the nation’s largest conservative seniors organization, with over 7.1 million supporters.

“We want it repealed. If Congress has to, let’s repeal it provision by provision.  Repeal the most onerous, most outrageous pieces.  Whether it’s IPAB, the Independent Payment Advisory Board; the huge tax on seniors, starting with the tax on dividends, or the tax on medical device manufacturers, a terrible tax that will be passed on to seniors in wheelchairs, motorized carts and so on.

“Everything we were told about Obamacare has turned out to be complete hogwash.  It was supposed to lower insurance premiums for families, but instead their premiums have gone up thousands of dollars.  People were supposed to be able to keep their existing plans and doctors, and now we see that over 20 million will lose their private health coverage in the first few years of Obamacare.

“Americans are extremely thankful that the Supreme Court agrees that this case is ripe for adjudication, and is not waiting until our nation’s health care system is eviscerated before deciding to hear arguments.  While the justices hear arguments and then deliberate, Congress must continue to take action, to listen to the people who put them in office and pay their salaries, and use every opportunity to dismantle this disastrous and unconstitutional law.”
