Jim Martin: “Any politician who keeps faith with this health care has lost all credibility.”

(Alexandria, Virginia) – Attention in Washington continues to build around a report issued last month, the annual Towers Watson survey of health plans, that shows in clear and unarguable detail the damage that Obamacare is doing to America’s health care system.  Still far from fully implemented, the President’s health care bill continues to have a strong negative effect on the lives of most Americans, by raising costs, burdening businesses with more mandates and killing jobs.  60 Plus Chairman Jim Martin, leader of the nation’s largest conservative seniors organization with over 7.1 million senior supporters, issued the following statement regarding the report:

“This survey is another overwhelming indictment of Obamacare and the staggering failure of the President’s signature piece of legislation.  Many forget that only a fraction of this health care overhaul has yet to be enacted, yet it is already causing serious devastation and hardship for millions of Americans.  We absolutely cannot afford to let Obamacare be fully implemented into our lives.

“We are beyond politics in our arguments against Obamacare. As the Towers Watson survey shows, people will continue to lose health insurance coverage and access to medical care due to rising costs and lack of availability.  When we say ‘repeal Obamacare’ we are talking about saving lives, and especially the lives of the most vulnerable among us.

“I recall all throughout the re-election campaign and 2nd term of President George W. Bush that the media was obsessed with trying to get him to admit ‘mistakes.’  When will the mainstream press in this country ask President Obama the same about his failed health care law, and whether he believes it was a mistake, because that is what most Americans believe, even a growing number in his own party.

“When Barney Frank, Jim Webb and even Harry Reid, just to name a few, are critical of this law, that says something, and means more Democrats every day are abandoning ship.  Americans need a new lease on life, we need to repeal Obamacare now and erase Washington’s biggest ‘mistake’ of the last 50 years.”
