Turn Your Head and Cough Up the Money: The IRS Taxes and Audits Americans’ Healthcare

Jim Martin: “Obamacare will turn every doctor’s office, every hospital, every adult-care facility into a branch office of the IRS.”

(Alexandria, Virginia) — The 60 Plus Association, the nation’s largest conservative seniors organization and acknowledged alternative to the liberal AARP today is raising questions about how the IRS will oversee its responsibilities with regard to the implementation of Obamacare, and what information regarding our personal healthcare records Americans will be forced to  submit to the scandal-plagued agency.

A current provision of Obamacare, Section 1502, demands insurers provide the IRS with documentation on their customers’ names, Social Security numbers, whether they have a ‘government-approved’ plan, and also gives the IRS the right to demand any “other information as the [Treasury] Secretary may require.”

Said 60 Plus Chairman and Founder Jim Martin, “This open-ended invitation for the IRS, through the Treasury Secretary, to request medical and personal information based on whatever whims strike them is akin to turning every doctor’s office, every hospital, every medical facility in the nation into a de facto branch office of the IRS.  The IRS can’t even manage tax collection without appearing like the KGB, and they will soon have the power to access to every Americans’ medical records?  This is pure insanity!

“According to the Supreme Court, Obamacare is financed through a mandated federal tax, which gives the IRS limitless powers to manage, oversee, analyze, scrutinize and TAX the peoples’ healthcare decisions.  Healthcare has a monetary value the IRS plans to track diligently.  This means that information pertaining to doctor visits, procedures, diagnoses, prescriptions, therapy – you name it – will all be available for the IRS to collect and review.  And if the IRS doesn’t like your choice of provider or insurer, they can tax you as a penalty.  Anyone feeling better yet?

“The IRS has shown once again that power corrupts.  Congress must make every effort to use the power of the purse to prevent the IRS from corrupting America’s healthcare — beyond the damage already inflicted by Obamacare.”
