Jim Martin: “It may look like a bus, but it’s really a rolling postcard signed by average Americans who represent the MILLIONS who want to see Obamacare repealed and replaced!”
(Washington, DC) – On the eve of an election that will be decided by America’s senior citizens, the 60 Plus Association is bringing its “Let’s Do Better” healthcare bus tour to Washington, DC, as well as a message from the thousands of seniors rallied across the country to repeal and replace Obamacare. Established in 1992, 60 Plus is the nation’s largest conservative seniors advocacy group with over 7.2 million supporters nationwide.
“Seniors are talking, but are the politicians listening? Seniors don’t want this healthcare bill, Americans of all ages don’t want it,” said 60 Plus Chairman Jim Martin. “Obamacare is a 2,700 page big-government monstrosity cooked-up by Obama, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid, and willfully pushed on seniors by the liberal AARP leadership. With over $700 billion in cuts, it spells the end of Medicare as we know it. Our bus tour is here in the nation’s capital to remind the politicians that voted for this anti-senior bill what happened in 2010 when a senior tsunami came ashore to help retire 63 members of Congress. Well the tsunami is back in 2012, stronger than ever.”
The 60 Plus bus tour started in Tampa at the GOP convention, and made stops in the Florida Panhandle, Georgia, South Carolina and ended at the Democratic convention in Charlotte, NC prior to making seven stops in VA. From here it continues on to PA, NY and OH, before heading to battleground states in the Midwest and returning to Florida in October.

Senior Citizens in all the preceding states have been signing their names on the bus, which features a picture of national spokesman Pat Boone, as a way of sending their message to Washington. The bus expects to be around the Capitol Hill/Union Station area between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. today.
Chairman Martin, who regularly attends the weekly Norquist and Weyrich meetings, will bring the bus to both events. “We invite all to come sign our bus, read the names on our bus, the tiny fraction of people who represent millions of honest, hardworking Americans who want healthcare done better. We speak for them when the politicians and AARP failed to, and we proudly carry their names to Washington.”
