60 Plus Highlights Heitkamp’s Support of $700 Billion Cut to Medicare in New Ad

Alexandria, Va. –The 60 Plus Association today launched a new radio ad decrying Heidi Heitkamp’s support of President Obama’s healthcare bill and the resulting $700 billion cut to Medicare. The $180,000 ad campaign will begin running statewide on October 18.

“Heidi Heitkamp is a strong supporter of Obamacare and the $700 billion the President will cut from Medicare to fund the law – a law we didn’t even want,” said Jim Martin, Chairman and Founder of the 60 Plus Association. “North Dakota seniors need a Senator who understands the necessity, for Americans of all ages, to repeal and replace Obamacare with common sense reforms. Rick Berg knows that important healthcare decisions should rest in the hands of seniors, not bureaucrats in Washington, D.C.”

NARRATOR:

Facts are clear. Medicare is going broke. It will be bankrupt in nine years.

WOMAN 1:

So why would Heidi Heitkamp support taking $700 billion out of Medicare to pay for the President’s new healthcare law?

NARRATOR:

A law we didn’t even want.

MAN 1:

Ya. There’s another question. Why’d she support that health care law in the first place?

WOMAN 2:

That law makes things worse for seniors like us.

WOMAN 1:

It puts Washington between me and my doctor.

MAN 2:

Gives bureaucrats the power to deny me the care I need just to save Washington a few bucks.

NARRATOR:

Heidi Heitkamp supported all that. Now she wants us to send her to Washington to represent us?

WOMAN 1:

Well, she’d fit in there.

NARRATOR:

Yep

MAN 1:

Sure would.

WOMAN 1:

I’d rather have a Senator who brings North Dakota values to Washington. Not the other way around.

WOMAN 2:

Me too.

NARRATOR:

That’s why I’m voting for Rick Berg. You should too.
