9/11 – Have We Forgotten: It was 25 years ago when the world changed forever.
Nineteen al-Qaeda terrorists hijacked four airplanes. Two hit the World Trade Center towers in New York City, one hit the Pentagon near Washington, D.C., and a fourth crashed in a Pennsylvania field after passengers fought back.
We remember what pure evil is. The complete disregard for life and civility that terrorism brings.
Remember the Americans who went to war and those who never came home. Remember the almost 3,000 innocent people who were murdered that day.
We also rediscovered something we should never have forgotten: America is more than a government.
It is a people.
But on September 12, remember something else.
Remember who we became when all the labels suddenly stopped mattering.
For one terrible moment, America remembered that citizenship was bigger than politics.
Twenty-five years later, we shouldn’t need another tragedy to remember it again.

“Win-Win” for Russia & Ukraine: Jared Kushner, after meeting with Presidents Putin and Zelensky, announced that peace should be a “win-win” deal that helps Putin achieve his aspirations?!?
For Ukraine:
– A win would be a free and sovereign Ukraine as Russia, Ukraine, the United States, and others agreed to in the Budapest Agreement.
– A win would be for Russia to return the children they have kidnapped from Ukraine and shipped all over Russia and apparently North Korea.
For Russia:
– A win should be peace as they return to their own country and stop attacking its neighbors.
– A win should be NO more sending their sons and daughters into mindless wars.
– A win should be NO more gas lines or disrupted travel for the poor Russian people.
– A win should allow the oligarchs (including Putin) to continue to plunder Russia’s riches.
– A win could be rebuilding their country’s infrastructure and wealth in peace.
As for Putin’s aspirations… who cares what a dictator and war criminal’s “aspirations” are… the notion is absurd on its face.
You simply can’t stop the war by complimenting and praising the dictator. Meanwhile, Russia continues to commit war crimes by targeting and terrorizing civilian targets night after night.
Russia vs. Ukraine war can end tomorrow… IF/When Russia leaves Ukraine… simple.

The Victims of 9/11 Deserved Better
On this anniversary, we can choose anew.
The 25th anniversary of the massacres of September 11, 2001, brings with it a flood of memory, and regrets. The simple reality, visible at the time and brought into ever-sharper focus across each successive year, is that the enemy in al-Qaeda achieved its major strategic objects in its attack upon the United States of America. Although the day itself saw the virtues of Americans in aggregate brought to the fore — most especially in the raw heroism of the Flight 93 passengers, but also in the selfless sacrifice of the FDNY, NYPD, and unnumbered Americans known and unknown who saw death for themselves and gave in the hope of life for others — it also illuminated with great rapidity the strategic incapacity of American political leadership. It is an incapacity yet to be fully repaired…
…But history is contingent, and on this anniversary, we can choose anew. The passengers charged the cockpit; the firemen ascended the stairs; the police went into the burning buildings; the soldiers and Marines and sailors and airmen volunteered for war. We owe them a country worthy of themselves.
The midterms ARE about Trump — and what he offers for America’s future
Ignore all the opining about President Donald Trump “making the midterms all about him”: It was never going to be any other way.
Midterms are always about the incumbent prez, with voters usually expressing doubts and discontent — that’s why the “out” party almost always gains seats.
What Republicans can do to counter those tendencies is pretty obvious: Remind voters of how very much the GOP has done right, fixing the messes left behind by President Joe Biden and the hyperactive Democratic Congress of 2021-’23 — and of how extremely weird the Democrats remain.
And weird not just on such “cultural” issues as trans rights and DEI: Most Democrats remain obsessively opposed to immigration enforcement, for example.
Half of them are still full-on Abolish ICE, with the rest looking to cut the agency’s funding and hamstring it with new rules in the spirit of the “sanctuary” cities and states that elect most Dems to Congress.
Remind the public that it appreciates Trump decisively closing the border, while Markwayne Mullin and Tom Homan now have Homeland Security and ICE now doing a steady, unobtrusive job at deporting the worst of the worst…
… Democrats are eager not simple to make the midterms “about Trump,” but to convince Americans the president has lost track of their needs.
The winning answer to that is simply to show how everything he does is about keeping the nation safe and prosperous — while the opposition is still obsessed with weird priorities that put both our safety and our prosperity at risk.
Small business owners built the American Dream. Democrats want to take it from you
Socialism offers you a government store. Capitalism offers you the keys to your own
Imagine living the American Dream, taking a risk to build a business from nothing, only to watch your tax dollars subsidize the government-backed competitor across the street.
That is exactly what is happening in New York, where a coalition of small business owners went to court last week to stop the Mamdani regime from using taxpayer dollars to compete directly against them.
That is socialism on Main Street. That is the Democratic Party’s economic agenda.
Small businesses are not merely one sector of the American economy. They are the American economy. There are roughly 36 million small businesses across the country, employing nearly half of America’s private-sector workforce.

The direction of the Democrat Party is the talk of the 2026 midterms. Will it go farther left or somehow moderate? The simple answer is that the Democrat Party will move even further left.
As the nation considers this question, it is a mistake to look at the current Democrat Party in a vacuum. We should not be focused on individual candidates. The focus should be on the trend.
What is happening in the modern Democrat Party is the natural progression of parties on the left.
Not your father’s Democratic Party
The American people should pay close attention to what happened in Washington this week. It sends a clear message about where the Democratic Party is headed and the consequences its members may face for challenging their own leadership.
On Sept. 1, just two out of 213 House Democrats helped Republicans bring a resolution condemning socialism to a House vote. Democratic leaders publicly rebuked them for breaking ranks, called their decision a “significant breach of trust” and referred the matter to their caucus rules committee for possible disciplinary action. Those two Democrats then joined six other Democrats and every Republican who voted in supporting the resolution. Another 192 Democrats voted against it. The resolution also called for voter ID requirements, which 80% of the electorate supports.
On Sept. 2, 205 House Democrats blocked a constitutional safeguard against packing the Supreme Court. The amendment would have fixed the Court at nine justices. Every Republican who voted supported it. Just one Democrat joined them. Democratic opposition denied the measure the two-thirds majority needed to advance, leaving the door open to future expansion. No political party should be allowed to stack the Supreme Court and turn the nation’s highest court into a rubber stamp for its agenda.
The contrast could not be clearer. Democrats refuse to condemn Hassan Piker, who said “America deserved 9/11,” but condemned two of their own members for breaking ranks on a procedural vote that allowed the House to condemn socialism.
This week showed that there is no room for independence from the socialist agenda within today’s Democratic Party. Members who break ranks are condemned and threatened with punishment. Candidates may campaign as moderates, but once elected, there will be no room for moderate actions or independent votes. They will be expected to support the socialist agenda or risk being denounced, ostracized and excommunicated by their own party.
There is no ‘win-win’ with Vladimir Putin
The Trump administration has again sent envoys to Moscow to try to end Russia’s war of conquest against Ukraine. The objective is laudable, but the strategy fails to see Russian President Vladimir Putin for the tyrant he is and is thus doomed to fail.
Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner arrived in Moscow for meetings with Putin on Sept. 7. President Donald Trump said his envoys were carrying proposals to end a war that will soon enter its fourth year. The administration asked Moscow to pause its strikes on Kyiv.
“I’ve ended eight wars,” Trump boasted in the Oval Office before their trip, “and I get no credit for it.”
Witkoff and Kushner met with the Russian dictator, and there was a photo op.
“First of all, President Putin, thank you so much for having us,” Witkoff wheedled, adding that the envoys were just “talking about when we retire, we’ll have all these incredible stories and memories, and yours will be right at the top of it all.”
This obsequiousness is unseemly, displaying a weak neediness that can have only undercut the chance of success, for it breeds contempt, not respect. Perhaps Witkoff hoped praise would make negotiations easier, but it handed Putin a gratuitous propaganda victory and demoralized his Ukrainian victims.
Hey, Germany. It’s legitimate to limit immigration
Just weeks after far-left candidates have won surprising victories in Democratic primaries for Senate and House in the United States, in Pennsylvania, Florida, Michigan, Colorado, and New York City, the Alternative für Deutschland party has won a widely predicted victory in the election last Sunday for the legislature of Sachsen-Anhalt, one of Germany’s 16 federal states.
Most Democratic officeholders have rallied around their far-left nominees even as the Democratic Socialists of America national platform calls for abolishing police, prisons, and immigration enforcement agencies. In contrast, Germany’s long-established parties — Christian Democrats, Social Democrats, Free Democrats, and Greens — have promised to continue to regard AfD as a “right-wing extremist” group and not to support any coalition with it.
Germany, in its commendable efforts to prevent any recurrence of or sympathy for its Nazi past, imposes limits on political activity Americans would find appalling. And the AfD in its beginnings in the 2000s, as Christopher Caldwell explains in First Things, had members and leaders with disturbing views.
Currently, some of its leaders have views many may consider odious, like supporting Russia over Ukraine, but it appears less likely than some leftist European parties to transgress the boundary between criticism of Israel and incitement against Jews.
The traditional parties’ case for isolating the AfD today is based on one issue, the same issue that has enabled the AfD to sprint ahead of the traditional parties in national polls—immigration. As Caldwell explains, “The Sachsen-Anhalt AfD was classified as ‘proven right-wing extremist’ for its ethnic conception of German citizenship.”

The parts were sent to a firm linked to Russia’s largest energy producer, which builds the Geran drones used to attack a shopping mall in central Ukraine in August, killing at least 16 people.
The disguised transfer of the components is detailed in internal Russian documents, reviewed by The Telegraph in a joint investigation with Politico.
The documents show for the first time how a Chinese government firm exported crucial drone-making components directly to Russia.
The revelations pose major questions for Russia, China and the Trump administration.
US, NATO allies foil Russian subsea cable sabotage plot
Deep in Arctic waters near the remote Svalbard archipelago this spring, NATO allies caught Russian subs training to unleash a secret weapon designed to disable critical undersea cables without leaving any fingerprints.
The clandestine Russian operation, described to Reuters by two Western officials, was carried out by Moscow’s GUGI undersea warfare directorate, which used deep-sea submersibles to simulate the deployment of the sophisticated and destructive technology.
A joint operation involving Britain, Norway and the United States tracked and confronted the Russian vessels at sea, said the two officials, speaking on condition of anonymity.
The vessels were prevented from completing their exercise and eventually left the area.
Britain and Norway disclosed in April that they had uncovered a covert Russian operation in Arctic waters.

Across each stop, I’ve watched one truth become impossible to ignore.

The distinction is important.
On September 11, 2001, terrorists murdered 2,977 people at the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and aboard Flight 93.
But when Americans woke up the next morning, something had changed. The political arguments that had consumed the country days earlier suddenly seemed small. American flags appeared everywhere. People lined up to donate blood. Americans asked how they could help.
Police officers and firefighters weren’t abstractions. They were heroes. Members of our Armed Forces weren’t somebody else’s sons and daughters. They were ours.
We rediscovered something we should never have forgotten: America is more than a government. It is a people. And 25 years later, our country could use a little September 12.
