Harris meets the Constitution’s requirements, but she has not demonstrated the minimum skills needed to serve as commander-in-chief
Vice President Kamala Harris lacks the minimum skills necessary to serve as president. That conclusion also means she lacks the skills to be Commander-in-Chief of the nation’s military. The absolute whiff that was her sit-down with CNN’s Dana Bash demonstrated Harris’s skills deficit. The upcoming debate—unless the moderators wholly avoid asking her even a moderately difficult question—will confirm this conclusion.
The Constitution’s requirements are simple: the president must be at least 35, be a natural born citizen, and must have lived in the United States for at least 14 years. Harris checks all three boxes. (The Qualifications Clause is set forth in Article II, Section 1, Clause 5.)
But what are the skills that are actually required to get most decisions right and to avoid catastrophically wrong decisions?
First, a president must be able to identify, hire and retain qualified senior staff to help him or her. Every president makes personnel mistakes but they must master this skill or at least hire people who can do so as Chief of Staff and Cabinet secretaries.
Next, the president must be able to absorb an enormous amount of incoming information and to make sense of it. He or she must be able to prioritize the crucial data provided them and understand the choices they confront as a result of that information. Then they have to be at least an average decision-maker. Again, every president makes mistakes. We cannot expect, because we will never get, a “perfect” president. But between the choices we are given, who makes the better decisions more often than the other candidate?
A president must also be able to communicate to his or her subordinates in the Executive Branch, which includes the military, what their decisions are and in what order they are to be implemented. They also need to be able to recall their decisions, follow-up on them, and change course when the results do not match the expectations.
The Blue Wall And Sun Belt Strategies: Harris And Trump’s Pathways To Win
Vice President Kamala Harris is almost certain to be able to win the White House by sweeping the Blue Wall states of Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin, even without taking any states in the Sun Belt where she has also been gaining ground on former President Donald Trump.
Trump very likely needs at least two of the four big battleground states to win, but he could achieve victory with the three biggest prizes on the swing state map — Pennsylvania, North Carolina and Georgia — while losing the rest to Harris.
The Harris and Trump campaign’s different pathways to reaching the 270 Electoral College votes needed for victory in November are beginning to take shape, as the traditional general election season gets underway after Labor Day.
Because Harris starts with slightly more Electoral College votes that are seen as completely secure than Trump, she has a greater variety of pathways to get to a total of 270. But a Newsweek analysis of the Electoral College map and interviews with pollsters and strategists from both parties shows an extremely close race that could easily go either way with just three weeks left before early voting.
“The election is going to come down to three to seven states, and we’re talking about maybe 2 points on the margins across all those states,” said Robert Blizzard, a Republican pollster. “It’s going to be tight.”
The state of the race has shifted dramatically from mid-July, when Trump was pulling ahead of President Joe Biden in polls in all seven battlegrounds after surviving an assassination attempt and rallying supporters at the Republican convention in Milwaukee.
Now Harris enters the fall campaign period leading Trump by an average of 2 percentage points in the seven key battleground states that will determine the winner, according to a Bloomberg News/Morning Consult poll released Aug. 29. The margin of error was plus or minus one percentage point across all the states.

Fox News contributors Marc Thiessen and Mollie Hemingway ripped Vice President Kamala Harris for dodging the media and failing to fully articulate her policies to voters with less than two months to go until election day.
“Kamala Harris is afraid. Truly afraid to talk to the media. Which is a weird situation. Because the corporate press are already with her. They want her to win. And she is afraid to even talk to them,” senior editor of The Federalist Mollie Hemingway said on “The Ingraham Angle” on Thursday.
Fox News host Laura Ingraham played a clip of former Obama adviser Valerie Jarrett denying that Harris was running to win on her race and gender. Jarrett said the VP’s campaign had energized the Democratic Party because she had injected “joy and laughter” into politics.
Washington Post columnist Marc Thiessen asked why Harris hasn’t been more forthright with her policies if she wasn’t running a shallow campaign.
“If she is not running because of gender or race, then what is her agenda? She won’t tell us what it is,” he reacted.
“You say how it’s like an 80’s sitcom. It’s more like a 90’s sitcom, ‘Seinfeld,’ a show about nothing. That’s the better analogy for the Harris campaign,” he joked.
Harris has faced criticism for taking just a handful of interviews in the 47 days since she emerged as the Democratic presidential nominee. She broke her media drought last week, sitting down for her first interview with CNN’s Dana Bash, which some critics complained was a softball interview. She taped two more radio interviews this week that aired on Friday.
Thiessen criticized Harris for giving a “word salad” when asked “the most simple and obvious question” about what she would do on day one in that CNN interview.
Kamala Harris is on the wrong side in the global war on free speech

On Monday, Brazil’s Supreme Court upheld a judge’s ruling that shut down X for refusing to obey government censorship demands.
The decision came days after France arrested Telegram CEO Pavel Durov, and Hong Kong convicted two journalists of sedition for publishing material critical of the government.
And in November, American voters must decide if they want the government to limit what they can hear and read, censor the scientific information they can receive and restrict the political views they’re exposed to — because all that is part of how Kamala Harris defines “freedom.”
Democrats are claiming that they’re the party of freedom, but Harris’ track record shows she’s the enemy of our most fundamental liberty: free speech.
She has long sought to use government power to muzzle those who disagree with her.

Harris move to the center on border wall, asylum contradicts her years of progressive immigration positions
Vice President Kamala Harris likes to portray herself as tough on the border and immigration.
Recent TV ads highlight her time as a “border state prosecutor” who aggressively targeted criminal cartels and drug smugglers, as well as her support for “the toughest border security bill in decades.”
That bill, which failed in the Senate in February and again in May, included $650 million for new border wall construction. Images of the border wall built during the Trump administration are featured in the Harris ads, yet Harris repeatedly criticized the wall over the years, describing it as an affront to both hers and America’s values.
In her 2019 book, “The Truths We Hold,” Harris called the wall “useless” and said it was “nothing more than a symbol, a monument standing in opposition to not just everything I value, but to the fundamental values upon which this country was built.”
A CNN KFile review of Harris’ social media posts found that she criticized the border wall more than 50 times during the Trump administration, calling it, among other things, “stupid,” “useless,” and a “medieval vanity project.”
As she tries to strengthen her image on the border, Harris will have to reckon with her years of opposing some of the very policies she now embraces. That includes building more border wall and also making it harder for migrants to come to the US seeking asylum.
Harris has tacked to the middle on other key issues, such as no longer banning fracking or supporting Medicare for All — positions she once supported before being picked as Joe Biden’s vice presidential nominee.
Eight States Poised To Decide On Citizens-Only Voting Amendments
‘Three-fourths of the cities that have allowed noncitizens to vote have allowed noncitizens in the country illegally to also vote,’ Jacob said.
Avi McCullah was born in Sao Paulo, Brazil. She came to be an American citizen via a “love story that transcended borders.”
The man who would become McCullah’s stepfather proposed to her mother in the United States during a visit during the Christmas season.
“He knew we could never spend another Christmas apart again,” McCullah, the president of Americans for Citizen Voting, said at a Washington, D.C press conference this week surrounded by lawmakers and elections officials.
McCullah and her mother — who both came to the United States legally — would eventually go through the “long, tedious, grueling process of becoming American citizens.” She said it made her understand and appreciate her adopted country. All these years later, McCullah said she still cries with pride when she hears the national anthem.
“I understand the reason why so many people want to flock to this country. I absolutely respect it,” she said. “But I also respect the legal system under which this country was founded. Citizen-only voting matters so much.”
Polling shows the vast majority of Americans agree with that sentiment, particularly in the wake of an absolute invasion of the U.S. border by millions of illegal immigrants under the borderless policies of President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris.
Republicans hammer Dem Michigan Senate candidate Elissa Slotkin for supporting Biden-Harris open border policies
Republicans are hammering Michigan Democratic Senate candidate Elissa Slotkin on immigration — attempting to tie her to the Biden Harris open border policies in two new ads released Wednesday.
Both ads target Slotkin, a three-term congresswoman, for positions that have supported while serving in the House.
One ad features Livingston County Sheriff Mike Murphy, and approaches illegal immigration from a law-and-order perspective. Last month, Murphy’s department hosted former President Donald Trump for a speech focusing on on crime and illegal immigration.
“As sheriff, I see every day how illegal immigration has affected Michigan,” Murphy said in the 30-second spot. “I hold Kamala Harris and Elissa Slotkin responsible.”
Murphy continues: “Harris and Slotkin have opened our borders to illegals. And then they reward them with taxpayer-funded benefits. These liberal policies are a threat to families and taxpayers.”
The second spot focuses on illegal immigration from an economic perspective. It features mother-of-four Vanessa Holden, from Webberville — outside Lansing. Inflation has made daily life more expensive.
“Higher prices are costing us thousands more every year,” Holden says. “And while we pay more, Congresswoman Elissa Slotkin gave our money away to illegal immigrants.”
Democrats Want To Keep The U.S. Border Wide Open As An Electoral Strategy
For decades, Democrats have favored open borders because they think illegal immigrants will become Democrat voters.
If you want to know where Vice President Kamala Harris and the Democrats stand on the border and immigration, a recent exchange between former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Bill Maher tells the tale.
Pelosi recently told Maher that she supports a California bill that would give illegal immigrants taxpayer money to buy homes. Maher quipped that Democrats didn’t used to support “free housing” for illegal immigrants, and Pelosi replied, “Well, that’s not free housing. It’s the American Dream being available to more people.”
When Maher noted that the California bill would make the American Dream available for the “undocumented,” Pelosi said, “Well, what I would like to do is move them to documented.”
And that, in a nutshell, is the Democrat Party’s view of illegal immigration. They would like to make illegal immigrants who are already living in the United States, legal. The favored policy for making them legal is mass amnesty — and in states like California, public benefits like taxpayer funding for a new home thrown in as a bonus. This is what Democrats means when they talk about “comprehensive immigration reform.” They mean mass amnesty.
This is Kamala Harris’ view. She has said so explicitly many times. When Harris reiterates her support — as she does every time immigration comes up these day — for the “bipartisan border bill” that was brought forward last year and narrowly defeated by Republicans, she’s signaling that she supports mass illegal immigration with legalization bestowed after the fact. That’s the Democrat position.
CDC, FBI Working To Hide Data Showing Shootings Stopped By Good Guys With Guns
The CDC, FBI, and legacy media are conspiring to “debunk” the truth that armed, law-abiding citizens prevent crime and stop mass shootings.
For years, gun control activists have sought to “debunk” the so called “good guy with a gun myth” in an effort to pass more stringent controls on one of our nation’s most cherished liberties. In support of this agenda, the federal government in conjunction with legacy media has sought to suppress the abundant evidence in support of the truth that armed, law-abiding citizens are one of the most effective deterrents against public mass casualty attacks.
For instance, in 2022, 22-year-old Elisjsha Dicken stopped a mass public shooting using his legally carried concealed handgun. The story became an unusual instance in which the national media covered this heroic action. But an Associated Press headline claimed: “Rare in US for an active shooter to be stopped by bystander.” Meanwhile, a Washington Post headline declared: “Rampage in Indiana a rare instance of armed civilian ending mass shooting.”
That same year, Time Magazine published an article politicizing the tragic school shooting in Uvalde, arguing that local law enforcement’s controversial response proves that “good guys with guns keep failing to stop mass shootings.”
Meanwhile, the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) under the Biden Administration has sought to suppress data proving that armed citizens help prevent crime by removing its estimates of defensive gun uses from its website. For almost a decade, the CDC referenced a 2013 National Academies of Sciences report noting that people used guns to stop crime anywhere from about 64,000 to 3 million times a year.
This decision was taken after gun control activist Mark Bryant, founder of the Gun Violence Archive, lobbied the CDC to remove “misinformation” regarding defensive gun use estimates because of they are cited by “gun rights folks” to stop gun control legislation. Soon after, the CDC took down these estimates and now lists no numbers.
Trump plans government efficiency commission proposed by Elon Musk
Former President Donald Trump’s latest push to gut the regulatory state is the formation of a government efficiency commission akin to what Tesla founder Elon Musk has proposed.
Trump announced the move Thursday during a speech before the Economic Club of New York. The commission will perform “a complete financial and performance audit of the entire federal government,” he told the crowd.
The commission will also make recommendations for “drastic reforms,” including ways to reduce fraud in the federal government and improper payments, he said. Trump claimed his plan will “save trillions of dollars,” calling the savings “massive.”
News about the commission follows a conversation that Trump had with Musk on X. The SpaceX founder pushed the former president to organize such a task force and volunteered to help with the endeavor.
Musk praised the move in a post on X after the news about Trump’s plans for the commission broke.
Congressman Chip Roy Releases Scathing Report On Impact Of Biden-Harris Border Policies
Democrats have made no secret that they plan to grant blanket amnesty to tens of millions of illegal immigrants who flooded into the country after President Joe Biden shredded President Trump’s sweeping efforts to secure the border – and whose worst elements are committing heinous crimes and taking over apartment complexes in several major Democrat-run cities.
The plan appears to be to provide Democrats with a reliable stream of votes, no matter the cost to the country (which, according to the NY Post, was $150 billion last year).
That’s not hyperbole – last week Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) openly stated that the Democrat party’s plan is to turn all “undocumented” migrants into “documented” ones, and supported the idea of providing subsidized housing to illegal aliens.
And Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) made it clear in a resurfaced 2022 speech that the “ultimate goal” of the Democratic party is to grant citizenship to “all 11 million or however many” illegals in the country.
