Alexandria, Virginia — Tonight, the 60 Plus Association announced the launch of www.SeatSenatorBrown.com, a national petition drive to immediately seat Massachusetts Senator-Elect Scott Brown.
Senator-Elect Scott Brown (R-MA) defeated Massachusetts Attorney General Martha Coakley (D-MA) in the closely watched race to fill the U.S. Senate seat vacated by deceased Senator Ted Kennedy (D-MA).
“No more political games. The people have spoken. They’ve rejected the Democratic nominee and the Democratic agenda. I was starting my career as a reporter on Capitol Hill in 1962 when Senator-Elect Ted Kennedy was seated just after his special election victory. This is no different, Senator-Elect Brown should be seated immediately,” said Jim Martin, Chairman of 60 Plus.
“The cuts to the Medicare program in the current healthcare bill and the government takeover of the healthcare system will impact Americans for generations to come. This issue is too important for politicians to play games,” continued Martin.
“Scott Brown must be seated without delay to represent the people of Massachusetts in the critically important healthcare debate. This petition drive makes it clear the citizens of Massachusetts and the American people support the swift seating of Scott Brown. Sign the petition and send Senator Harry Reid a message — Seat Scott Brown, Now,” said Amy Frederick, President of 60 Plus.
Make your voice heard and tell Senator Harry Reid to seat Senator-Elect Scott Brown. Sign the petition now.
