Congressman Ted Budd Expands Access to Telemedicine
Washington, DC (April 21, 2020) –60 Plus Association President Saul Anuzis presented Congressman Ted Budd (NC-13) the American Association of Senior Citizens Legislator of the Month Award on Capitol Hill.
60 Plus Chairman Jim Martin said, “On behalf of more than five million senior citizen supporters we commend Ted Budd for introducing H.R. 688, The Equal Access to Care Act. This legislation will enable senior citizens to gain access to their doctors by removing the burdensome bureaucratic process by allowing more providers to take advantage of telemedicine and to offer seniors the choice of being able to see their doctor in the safety of their home.
“The award is presented to Democrats and Republicans in the House and Senate who are a proven leader on senior citizen issues, and we are pleased to present this award to Congressman Ted Budd who is someone seniors can definitely count on,” Martin stated.
60 Plus President Saul Anuzis stated, “This legislation is essential for seniors as it expands access to telemedicine by allowing licensed health care providers to treat patients by whatever means is available to them, by phone or computer. This is critical for those who live in rural areas and their options are already limited, Anuzis said.
“We are grateful for this legislation which will make it easier for healthcare providers to treat patients and for patients to quickly get the care they need regardless of where they are,” concluded Anuzis.
