New Vice President At 60 Plus

He’s Earned It

Alexandria, Va.– Matthew Kandrach, head of coalition building at the nation’s largest conservative senior citizen’s group, has been promoted to Vice President.

60 Plus Association Chairman Jim Martin said in making the announcement:  “Matthew delivers. We call him Fed-Ex, or UPS, because he always delivers, on time and often ahead of schedule. He earned this promotion the old fashioned way, through hard work and dedication to duty.  Seniors are well served by Matthew.”

Kandrach, a Florida State graduate, was born in Cleveland, Ohio but grew up in Pinellas County, Florida where he received a business degree from St. Petersburg Junior College before earning his bachelors from FSU in Tallahassee.

After a successful career as a small businessman, Kandrach fulfilled a life long ambition by moving to the Nation’s Capital to pursue his love for the political arena.  He worked for several Congressional campaigns as well as for a free-market oriented think tank espousing less government regulations and lower taxes on middle class wage earners.

In 2009, the rapidly expanding 60 Plus Association, representing 5 million senior activists, hired Kandrach to be responsible for organizing senior spokesmen across the country. 60 Plus, founded in 1992 by Martin, has seen its growth mushroom another 2 million, now at 7.1 million supporters, becoming the conservative counter to the more liberal AARP, now in its 53rd year.

“Kandrach has a proven track record of organizing seniors for rallies, helping produce radio-TV scripts and audio calls as well as speaking out on issues affecting the well-being of America’s elderly.

“Job well done,” said Martin, a sentiment echoed by 60 Plus President Amy Frederick who brought Kandrach to the Association’s attention.  Frederick, in her second decade at 60 Plus, said Kandrach’s duties will continue to focus on outreach to seniors across the nation, but, she added, “with this promotion Jim and I wanted to reward his hard work and his dedication.”
