Obama is No Teddy Roosevelt

60 Plus Chairman Jim Martin, “Obama’s Bull-Moose performance forgot the Moose.”

(Alexandria, Virginia) – In another campaign re-election appearance masquerading as official presidential business, President Obama gave a speech in Osawatomie, Kansas today, intending to revive and mimic the memory of President Theodore Roosevelt, who gave his infamous “New Nationalism” speech in this small plains town in 1910.

“Obama’s attempt to channel the Bull-Moose party went light on the Moose, and heavy on the Bull.  America fondly remembers TR as the original Rough-Rider, and today we saw Obama run Rough-Shod over the truth of his own failed and incompetent term in the White House.

“Roosevelt was known as the trust-buster, and that may be a good name for Obama as well, as he has busted every trust he has made with the American people.  This President told us ObamaCare would lower healthcare costs, that his trillion dollar stimulus would keep unemployment under 8%, and that he would fight to reduce our debt.  The middle class he claims he cares so much about is suffering in the worst economy since the Great Depression directly because of his policies and his alone.

“And while Teddy’s image sagely watches over us from Mt. Rushmore, this President has put the middle class between a rock and a hard place.

“It’s an absolute outrage that the President is spending our grandchildren into bankruptcy and giving over a half a billion dollars of the taxpayers’ money to phony corporate friends of his like Solyndra, all while flying around the country to rake in more of the corporate cash he so self-righteously condemns.  Just like nearly seven out of ten Americans who think the President’s handling of the economy has been a failure, Teddy Roosevelt would not approve.”
