Pat Boone Urges Florida Seniors In New 60 Plus Ad: Protect Medicare: Vote Romney

ALEXANDRIA, Va. – The 60 Plus Association, nationally recognized as the conservative alternative to the liberal AARP, today launched a $255,000 ad campaign featuring music legend and 60 Plus National Spokesman Pat Boone.  In the piece, Boone explains President Obama cut Medicare by $700 billion while Governor Romney’s plan protects and strengthens America’s most important promise to seniors.

“President Obama has failed to protect and preserve our nation’s most important promise to seniors:  Medicare,” said Boone.  “Rather than strengthening the program and ensuring it is available for the next generation, President Obama cut $700 billion from its bottom line and set up a 15-person board of unelected, unaccountable bureaucrats that will make our medical decisions for us.  Mitt Romney’s plan puts Medicare on the path to solvency, keeping it exactly as is for current seniors and offering younger folks the opportunity to choose the care that’s best for them.”

The ad, “Strengthen,” will initially run in Florida’s West Palm Beach and Fort Myers media markets beginning on October 25.  To view a copy of the ad, please click here.

“Considering that Medicare will go broke in 12 years, the outcome of this election will not determine if, but how, Medicare will be reformed,” said Jim Martin, Chairman and Founder of 60 Plus.  “Seniors in Southern Florida and across the country understand that President Obama’s Medicare policy has been to insert bureaucrats between doctors and patients and cut Medicare funding, redistributing that money to other big-government programs.  Mitt Romney’s message on Medicare, however, resonates with seniors, because it presents a clear vision on how to preserve and protect this critical program.”

Hi friend, I’m Pat Boone.

Recently, there’s been a lot of talk about Medicare.  It’s hard to know who to trust.

Here are the facts:

Medicare’s going bankrupt.

President Obama hasn’t done much to fix it.

In fact, he hurt Medicare by taking $700 billion from Medicare to pay for his new health care law.

Mitt Romney will strengthen Medicare, keeping our promises to seniors and our grandkids.

If you’re over 55, nothing changes. But Romney’s plan empowers every American to choose the care that’s best for them.

Strengthen Medicare, vote for Mitt Romney.
