“Democrats should be ashamed for playing politics with the lives of seniors”

60 Plus Association and American Association of Senior Citizens Founder and Chairman James Martin today issued the following statement in response to reports that the House corona virus spending bill will include demands for price controls on vaccines.

“Most children know the story about killing the goose that laid the golden egg. Apparently, House Democrats have never read this 2,500 year old fable.

As the nation fights the growing threat from corona virus, liberals in the House of Representatives are contemplating socialist price controls on corona virus vaccines that are being researched and formulated by America’s drug industry. Price controls will ensure that we get less corona virus vaccine, that any treatment is likely to be rationed, and that development will take longer. 

Senior citizens are the most vulnerable population for contracting corona virus and dying from it. Yet congressional Democrats want to kill the goose that lays the golden eggs of life-saving medicines through socialist price controls. 

Democrats should be ashamed for playing politics with the lives of seniors and other Americans. This is wrong – period. Democrats need to start working with the Trump administration and take swift, effective action to keep our nation safe from this virus.”
