Seniors Stand Behind Sen. Ted Cruz’s “Restore Growth First” Amendment

Jim Martin: “Only partially implemented, Obamacare has already proven to be a wrecking ball on our nation’s economy and healthcare system.”

(Alexandria, Virginia) – The 60 Plus Association, home to 7.2 million senior citizen activists, today endorsed Senator Ted Cruz’s (R-TX) “Restore Growth First” amendment to the Senate’s Continuing Resolution on the budget, which aims to table funding for Obamacare until the national economy reaches past historical levels of economic growth.  Cruz’s Amendment also seeks complete repeal of Obamacare in the alternative.

60 Plus Association Chairman and Founder Jim Martin strongly endorsed Cruz’s Amendment, noting that the U.S. Senate still functions on Continuing Resolutions due to Majority Leader Harry Reid’s (D-NV) refusal to pass an actual budget in over 1,650 days.

“America’s seniors have never been confused about where they stand on Obamacare, being the most consistent and vocal opponents of this disastrous legislation from the moment it was conceived.  With the law only partially implemented so far, we are bearing witness every day to fresh evidence of how Obamacare is killing jobs, choking our economy, and wreaking havoc with America’s healthcare system.

“Because President Obama is committed to more spending, bigger government, higher taxes on productivity and more debt, the so-called current economic recovery is the worst in history, and families are watching their wages plummet like never before.  If we are going to reverse the trend of economic growth of less than 1% and bring jobs and prosperity back to America, it must begin by stopping the job-killing, budget-busting law known as Obamacare before it can wreak more disaster.

“Seniors across America applaud Senator Cruz for introducing this common sense Amendment, which draws a clear line in the battle for the future of our economy, and our healthcare.  If you stand for a strong, vibrant economy that puts America back to work, then the Restore Growth Amendment deserves your support.”
