USMCA Helps Seniors by Protecting Intellectual Property Rights

IP provisions ensure, ‘robust and innovative’ pharmaceutical industry

ALEXANDRIA, Virginia (October 25, 2019) – 60 Plus Association President Saul Anuzis issued the following statement regarding ratification of the United States Mexico Canada Agreement (USMCA):

“Protecting intellectual property is absolutely vital to maintaining a robust and innovative pharmaceutical industry, and the Trump administration has wisely included such provisions in the United States Mexico Canada Agreement.

The United States leads the world in medical innovation and the USMCA offers American industry the IP protections that scientists and researchers need to invent the next generation of therapies that improve the lives of people around the globe. This is especially important to seniors who typically rely more than others on such medicines. We look forward to the speedy ratification of this important agreement.”
