(Alexandria, Virginia) – As the Obama Administration trumpets phony Obamacare enrollment numbers that cannot be verified and still show the law well behind its projected rollout schedule, the pain seniors and most Americans are facing this Valentine’s Day is real, and breaking their hearts. While the Administration trumpets phony numbers on enrollment, seniors are being separated from their cherished Medicare Advantage programs at an alarming rate.
The latest Obamacare healthcare crisis was addressed today by 60 Plus Chairman Jim Martin, leader of the nation’s largest conservative seniors organization with over 7.2 million supporters, and the acknowledged alternative to the liberal AARP.
“The numbers on Obamacare are starting to take shape and this much we know — the bad numbers are real, and the numbers the President trumpets as good news are a political farce bigger than ‘Dewey Defeats Truman’.
“First the President told America during the State of the Union that Obamacare has provided care to nine million Americans, which is a complete lie as he included Medicaid, which of course already exists, and plays no role in selling insurance. Now we are told that 3.3 million have enrolled in Obamacare, but the Administration refuses to honestly report how many have actually paid the premiums on these plans, which really is the only measure that matters.
“But we do know that the pain of Obamacare is real, the higher premiums, the six million and counting who have lost their health plans and doctors, the $2 trillion in additional debt and the lost jobs sure to mount. Obamacare is such a certain job killer that the President has yet AGAIN delayed the employer mandate solely to avoid the political consequences of more job losses.
“Now after cutting more than $1 trillion from Medicare, including raiding $300 billion from Medicare Advantage (MA), seniors are losing their doctors and plans at breakneck speed. As the Kaiser Family Foundation noted, 26% of seniors on MA have lost their plans, or their providers are planning to close up shop in their area, and this is only with 4% of actual cuts to MA having been implemented. Seniors on fixed incomes are going to lose their doctor, lose the care they have come to expect and in the end will have fewer medical options and diminished service, there’s no avoiding it.
“Those numbers are REAL and reflect a devastating consequence of Obamacare you won’t hear the President talk about or discussed by the Obama press corps. Like every other day since this law was passed, seniors have a target on them this Valentine’s Day – and it’s not in a good place.”
