60 Plus Releases New Ad in Nebraska Senate Race

Sid Dinsdale, In His Own Words, “I Would Always Vote to Raise the Debt Limit”

(Alexandria, Virginia) — The 60 Plus Association, the nation’s largest conservative seniors organization with over 7.2 million senior supporters, today released an advertisement featuring troubling video of Nebraska U.S. Senate Candidate Sid Dinsdale’s acknowledging, in his own words, that he “would always vote to raise the debt limit.” The federal debt today stands at an astonishing $17.5 trillion or the equivalent of $151,230 of debt for every U.S. taxpayer.

“Every Republican in Nebraska is concerned about runaway spending in Washington, yet Sid Dinsdale’s pledge, shockingly, is to always vote for more debt ceiling increases,” said 60 Plus Chairman Jim Martin.

Under Dinsdale’s approach, more and more tax dollars will be needed to pay interest on the debt, instead of other priorities. Rising debt will lead to higher interest rates and inflation. And worst of all, unsustainable debt levels hampers economic growth.

Added Martin, “Nebraska voters deserve a Senator who will stand up and fight for fiscal discipline and spending restraint, but Sid Dinsdale would be another rubber stamp for runaway Washington spending and more big government waste. How do we know this? Because he says so himself.”

The ad will begin airing statewide tomorrow. It will run in rotation with an existing 60 Plus ad featuring three Nebraska veterans who are objecting to Shane Osborn’s circulation of a falsified Navy memo during his campaign for U.S. Senate in Nebraska.
