I am proud of our flag, what it stands for and the many who died to let it fly, so I stand and salute during our National Anthem – so I must be a racist.
I kneel only for The Cross, which makes me racist.
I think the Confederate monuments around our country symbolizes history, so I’m labeled as having hate in my heart when some suddenly are offended by their presence.

Are Americans ‘Mad as Hell’?
“I’m mad as hell, and I’m not going to take it anymore!” That’s the famous phrase that instantly entered the American lexicon, courtesy of Paddy Chayefsky, the writer of the 1976 Oscar-winning movie, “Network.”
The film, which starred Faye Dunaway, William Holden, and the late Peter Finch as enraged newscaster Howard Beale, won four Oscars, including a best actor prize for Finch, whose Beale character was the forerunner of every fuming cable TV pundit from Bill O’Reilly to Keith Olbermann to Glenn Beck to Rachel Maddow to, latterly, Tucker Carlson, expatiating on behalf of the American public.
Here’s the speech, which might have been written yesterday by a conservative, but 44 years ago was the authentic voice of a Hollywood liberal:
“I don’t have to tell you things are bad. Everybody knows things are bad. It’s a depression. Everybody’s out of work or scared of losing their job. The dollar buys a nickel’s worth. Banks are going bust. Shopkeepers keep a gun under the counter. Punks are running wild in the street and there’s nobody anywhere that seems to know what to do with us. There’s no end to it.
Black Lives Matter Is Not A Peaceful Protest Group
Since the killing of George Floyd at the knees of Minneapolis police, Black Lives Matter have exposed its true colors as a violent anarchic movement.
Wisconsin police say a Mexican man intentionally drove his truck into a motorcyclist earlier this month for the sole purpose of killing a white person.
According to the criminal complaint reviewed by local Green Bay outlet NBC26 charging Daniel Navarro with a hate crime, “Navarro stated that if Trump and white people are going to create a world like we are living in then he has no choice and people are going to have to die.”
Police say the victim, Philip Thiessen, 55, a former Marine, police officer, special agent, and regular volunteer at a local food pantry, died on the scene.
According to the criminal complaint, Navarro deliberately ran his truck into a motorcyclist as opposed to a car because “he wanted the person to die and not be paralyzed.” The complaint also says Navarro perceived Harley culture as brimming with white supremacists.
Further south in Indianapolis, the downtown canal saw its second homicide within a week after an argument broke out. One group offended over the term “all lives matter” shot and killed the mother of a 3-year-old on Sunday.
In Detroit, new Black Lives Matter protests erupted last week demanding “justice” and taking action against local law enforcement that shot and killed a black man who had opened fire on officers first at point-blank.
Biden and Dems Are Set to Abolish the Suburbs (WARNING – You better read this!)
President Trump had a great riff at his rally the other day in Phoenix. It was all about “abolish,” about how the Left wants to abolish the police, ICE, bail, even borders. Trump’s riff is effective because it is true. The Left has gone off the deep end, and they’re taking the Democrats with them.
Well, there’s another “abolish” the president can add to his list, and it just might be enough to tip the scales this November. Joe Biden and the Democrats want to abolish America’s suburbs. Biden and his party have embraced yet another dream of the radical Left: a federal takeover, transformation, and de facto urbanization of America’s suburbs. What’s more, Biden just might be able to pull off this “fundamental transformation.”
The suburbs are the swing constituency in our national elections. If suburban voters knew what the Democrats had in store for them, they’d run screaming in the other direction. Unfortunately, Republicans have been too clueless or timid to make an issue of the Democrats’ anti-suburban plans. It’s time to tell voters the truth.
I’ve been studying Joe Biden’s housing plans, and what I’ve seen is both surprising and frightening. I expected that a President Biden would enforce the Obama administration’s radical AFFH (Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing) regulation to the hilt. That is exactly what Biden promises to do. By itself, that would be more than enough to end America’s suburbs as we’ve known them, as I’ve explained repeatedly here at NRO.
Democracy Dies in Darkness, but Don’t Blame Trump
Remember the grave warnings when Donald Trump was elected about how his presidency would usher in an unprecedented assault on freedom of expression?
Ululations of orchestrated hysteria went up from the nation’s media. It was 1933 again. Late Weimar America would succumb to an authoritarian with a distinctive haircut and a penchant for intolerant rhetoric.
A few weeks before the 2016 election, the Committee to Protect Journalists issued a thunderous warning: “A Trump presidency represents a threat to press freedom unknown in modern history.”
“Democracy Dies in Darkness,” which some have noted sounds like the working title for an inferior James Bond movie, became the daily front-page leitmotif of a major newspaper, its reporters bravely committed to holding aloft the flickering lamp of freedom amid the gathering gloom of tyranny.
Four years on, it’s clear the warnings were justified. Consider the state of free speech in Mr. Trump’s America. Newspaper editors are forced to quit because of pieces they’ve run. Academics are removed from positions for daring to dissent from the dominant orthodoxy. Corporate executives have been fired for opinions written three decades ago that now fall outside the lines of acceptable public discourse.
Newt Gingrich: Good riddance anti-Trump Republicans who would rather support Biden, Pelosi and Schumer
The deep state Republicans are alive and well and doing what you’d expect them to be doing. They are living proof that President Donald Trump is a genuine change agent. The world he is changing is their world, and they hate him for it.
In the near future, these deep state Republicans will drop the pretense of still belonging to the Party of Abraham Lincoln and become Democrats. These are, after all, people who have grown deeply uncomfortable not just with President Trump but also with those Republicans (the vast majority) who are comfortable with President Trump (about 88 percent of the GOP). This is why they are now running ads against pro-Trump Republican Senators as well as against President Trump himself.
They find the prospect of a Biden-Pelosi-Schumer machine running America more acceptable than the possibility of a Trump-McConnell-McCarthy team being in charge of Washington.
The deep state Republicans are against Trumpism as much as they are against President Trump.
In a real sense, the revolt of the anti-Trump Republicans is further proof of just how different and disruptive the Trump candidacy and the Trump presidency have been.
The most dishonest, biased news coverage of our lifetimes — and it’s about to get worse
‘I don’t think I’ve ever seen such dishonest and biased coverage of any event.” That was Brit Hume, who has been covering events for more than 50 years for Fox News, ABC News and investigative reporter Jack Anderson.
The event was President Trump’s Independence Day speech at Mount Rushmore.
The speech was, according to The New York Times, “dark and divisive,” designed to deliver a “divisive culture war message.” The Washington Post called it a “dystopian speech” and a “push to amplify racism.”
Absent from their stories were quotations supporting racism. Nor did Illinois Democratic Sen. Tammy Duckworth supply any quotations to support her claim that Trump “spent all his time talking about dead traitors.” Trump mentioned no Confederates but did quote the “Battle Hymn of the Republic.”
The great bulk of Trump’s speech was a celebration of American history, American principles, American leaders. He spoke extensively of the four presidents whose visages were sculpted on the mountain above him and paid tribute more succinctly to others.
He said: “We are the country of Andrew Jackson, Ulysses S. Grant and Frederick Douglass. We are the land of Wild Bill Hickock and Buffalo Bill Cody. We are the nation that gave rise to the Wright brothers, the Tuskegee Airmen, Harriet Tubman, Clara Barton, Jesse Owens, George Patton — Gen. George Patton — the great Louie Armstrong, Alan Shepard, Elvis Presley and Muhammad Ali.”
Dark and divisive? Dystopian? Amplifying racism?
Here’s How the WashPost Lied About Trump’s Mount Rushmore Speech
As NewsBusters’ own Tim Graham reported the other day, CNN reporter Leyla Santiago had this curious take on President Trump’s Mt. Rushmore visit.
The President, she told Jake Tapper, is “kicking off the Independence Day weekend, President Trump will be at Mt. Rushmore where he’ll be standing in front of a monument of two slave owners and on land wrestled away from Native Americans….”

Social justice is one of those squishy terms that is not easy to define. One thing we know for certain: social justice is not the same thing as justice, an age-old idea that was the focus of such thinkers as Aristotle, Plato, Augustine of Hippo, Aquinas, and Hume. (After all, if social justice meant the same thing as justice, the word “social” would be superfluous.)
Many years ago, while speaking to William F. Buckley, Jr. on the idea of social justice, the Nobel Prize-winning economist F.A. Hayek observed the “meaningless conception” of the term.
To Aristotle, Cicero, and America’s Founding Fathers, justice applies to individuals. To social justice advocates, justice is collective.
“Everybody talks about social justice, but if you ask people exactly what they mean by social justice, what they accept as justice, nobody knows,” Hayek said. “I’ve been trying for the last twenty years, asking people ‘What exactly are your principles?’”
Green Energy Reality Check: It’s Not as Clean as You Think
As policymakers have shifted focus from pandemic challenges to economic recovery, infrastructure plans are once more being actively discussed, including those relating to energy. Green energy advocates are doubling down on pressure to continue, or even increase, the use of wind, solar power, and electric cars. Left out of the discussion is any serious consideration of the broad environmental and supply-chain implications of renewable energy.
As I explored in a previous paper, “The New Energy Economy: An Exercise in Magical Thinking,”[1] many enthusiasts believe things that are not possible when it comes to the physics of fueling society, not least the magical belief that “clean-tech” energy can echo the velocity of the progress of digital technologies. It cannot.
This paper turns to a different reality: all energy-producing machinery must be fabricated from materials extracted from the earth. No energy system, in short, is actually “renewable,” since all machines require the continual mining and processing of millions of tons of primary materials and the disposal of hardware that inevitably wears out. Compared with hydrocarbons, green machines entail, on average, a 10-fold increase in the quantities of materials extracted and processed to produce the same amount of energy.
This means that any significant expansion of today’s modest level of green energy—currently less than 4% of the country’s total consumption (versus 56% from oil and gas)—will create an unprecedented increase in global mining for needed minerals, radically exacerbate existing environmental and labor challenges in emerging markets (where many mines are located), and dramatically increase U.S. imports and the vulnerability of America’s energy supply chain.
As recently as 1990, the U.S. was the world’s number-one producer of minerals. Today, it is in seventh place. Even though the nation has vast mineral reserves worth trillions of dollars, America is now 100% dependent on imports for some 17 key minerals, and, for another 29, over half of domestic needs are imported.
Lincoln Project Paid More than $2 Million to Firms Owned by Its Founders (Anyone really Surprised?!?)
The Lincoln Project, a political action committee run by a cadre of GOP campaign operatives opposed to President Donald Trump, has paid out more than two million dollars to firms owned by its founding members.
The group, which was formed last December, has made national headlines for its viral ads, many of which attack Trump and his congressional allies. Since its launch, the Lincoln Projected has raised more than $19 million, with most of the money ($16.8 million) coming in over the last three months. A significant portion of the group’s newfound contributions, as noted by the Center for Responsive Politics, come from Democrat mega-donors, some of whom have donated as much as one million dollars.
Although much emphasis has been placed on the Lincoln Project’s fundraising numbers, especially the fact that 45 percent of its total contributions come from individuals giving $200-or-less, little attention has been paid to how the group is spending its money. Federal Election Commission (FEC) filings made public on Wednesday grant an inside view of how the Never Trump organization has operated in its first six months of existence.
The filings indicate that the Lincoln Project’s biggest vendors, Summit Strategic Communications, LLC and Tusk Digital, Inc., are owned by two of its board members.
John Lewis, civil rights icon, congressman for 33 years, dead at 80
Rep. John Lewis (D-GA), a former leading civil rights activist and symbol of the movement in the House of Representatives during his 33-year tenure, died Friday night.
Doctors diagnosed Lewis with pancreatic cancer late last year. He was 80.
Lewis, the son of Alabama sharecroppers, was already a national figure when he first entered Congress in 1987.
The former chairman of the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee (SNCC) and one of the keynote speakers at the historic March on Washington, Lewis established himself throughout his time on Capitol Hill as a leading advocate for the rights of minorities.
His decades of tireless activism came to a climax when then-Sen. Barack Obama (D-IL) soared to victory in the 2008 presidential election. Lewis was the only person who spoke from the steps of the Lincoln Memorial in the summer of 1963 to witness the election of the nation’s first African-American president.
How ‘Don’t Judge’ Turned Into ‘Cancel The Bigots’
Moralism is back with a vengeance. Judging is all the rage, and no one is safe, because no one is righteous. The physical destruction that began with attacks on Confederate statues has evolved into toppling anyone on a pedestal, even abolitionists and Abraham Lincoln.
As with monuments in marble, bronze, and granite, so too with everything else. From editors to Eskimo Pie ice cream, anyone and anything can be cancelled. No one is virtuous enough to withstand the scrutiny of the new moralists.
The air is thick with moral pronouncements, but the ground is bereft of foundations for them. I would like to blame the late Richard Rorty, but that would be giving him too much credit—even well-known American philosophers are practically anonymous. But while Rorty’s ideas are not directly responsible for present conditions, his arguments foreshadowed much of what is now happening.
Ruth Bader Ginsburg Has Reportedly Been Undergoing Cancer Treatment Since May
Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg has been undergoing cancer treatment, she reportedly said in a statement Friday.
“I have often said I would remain a member of the Court as long as I can do the job full steam. I remain fully able to do that,” Ginsburg said in a statement after a “recurrence of cancer.”
‘Hard Decision’: Democratic Convention Officials Tell Members Of Congress To Stay Away
Democratic officials are telling members of Congress and Democratic delegates to stay away from the party convention next month.
Convention committee senior adviser Chasseny Lewis sent an email to Hill staff on Thursday directing them and congressional members to stay away from the convention scheduled to take place Aug. 17-20. The decision ensures that the event in Milwaukee will be mostly muted affair with only major speeches taking place in the convention center, according to The New York Times.
“We have been working closely with state and local public health officials, as well epidemiologists, and have come to the hard decision that members of Congress should not plan to travel to Milwaukee,” Lewis said in the email. “No delegates will travel to Milwaukee, and Caucus and Council meetings will take place virtually.”
