Obama Speech Admission He Didn’t Get the Job Done

60 Plus Chairman Jim Martin, “President Obama offers nothing more than blame and excuses.  He looks like a re-run on a channel that no one is watching.”

(Alexandria, Virginia) – 60 Plus Chairman Jim Martin, leader of the nation’s largest conservative seniors organization with over 7.2 million senior supporters, issued the following statement regarding President Obama’s DNC convention speech Thursday evening:

“It’s four years later, and the President has nothing to offer the voters but more empty promises, more tired excuses and more shameless blame of others.  He couldn’t talk about his record of achievement because there is none.  If someone thawed from ice watched his speech they would have thought he was the challenger, not the sitting president who’s been running the country for the last four years.  Obama has an achievement deficit, and he can’t talk or spend his way out of it.

“Despite spending trillions of our children’s and grandchildren’s dollars to kick start the economy and fix healthcare, Obama can’t shake the reality that he now presides over the worst economic recovery dating back to the Great Depression, and a healthcare law that becomes more costly and unpopular by the hour.

“The President didn’t mention Obamacare even once, I guess it proves the old adage that if you can’t say something nice, don’t say anything at all.  Obama doesn’t want to remind seniors of the law that cuts over $700 billion from Medicare, or the fact they have serious concerns about being pulled out of Medicare and shoved into Obamacare.  While Obamacare slipped the mind of his speechwriters, rest assured it WON’T slip the mind of tens of millions of America’s elderly, who will once again create a senior tsunami at the ballot box this November.

“The President admitted that the economic recovery is ‘not good enough,’ but only offers more of the same.  He says he is wiser since 2008, well I have news for you Mr. President, so are America’s voters.”
